Thanks to your help, we are delighted to announce that we have raised £2,800 through a joint-effort with Gardman for The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
The appeal, which saw a donation of 50p from every sale of Poppy Bird Feeders, started as a partnership between Gardman, the UK’s leading garden product wholesaler, and The Royal British Legion.
Gardman pledged to donate 50p from all sales of their Cast Iron Poppy Feeders and between 50p and £1.50 from sales of Seed Mix to the Armed Forces charity, with the aim of raising £200,000 from total sales across 600 UK retailers.
As one of Wales’ largest independent retailers, we were keen to partner with Gardman from the launch by matching their 50p donation, raising the amount donated to £1 per sale. As anticipated, our customers have fully supported the initiative, with 5600 items sold through our eight stores across Wales, our Shrewsbury Store, and online since September 2016.
“We are delighted with the amount raised through our joint-appeal with Gardman for The Royal British Legion. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their support in choosing to shop with us and get behind this important and meaningful cause.”
Rebecca Lloyd, Managing Director Designate, Charlies Stores Ltd.
Gardman’s partnership with the Legion has exceeded their initial target, raising £218,359 in total.
This will support the charity’s vital work of helping members of the Armed Forces community past and present. The Legion also campaigns to improve their lives, organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.
