A yearly fundraising initiative that sees £2 donated from the sales of our live Christmas trees, has collected over £10,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance and Midland Air Ambulance charities.
Over 3,500 Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce trees were sold across our stores in Wales, and over 1,200 in our Shrewsbury store. This sees the donations split £7,905 for the Wales Air Ambulance and £2,534 for the Midlands-based charity.
We have seen live tree sales jump 40% on last year’s figures. This is due in part to our new store opening in Aberystwyth, but also due to more customers choosing to purchase their trees at their local Charlies.
“We are really pleased with this year’s performance in tree sales. We are heartened that more and more customers each year choose to make significant purchases, such as their Christmas tree, with us. More importantly, however, is that those purchases have raised valuable funds for a vital service that helps so many in our communities. A big thank you goes out to our customers who supported our fundraising efforts.”
Rebecca Lloyd, Managing Director Designate
The donations will support the work of the two air-cover charities, which both respond to roughly 2,000 missions each year and are entirely funded by the public and local businesses.
